This has been a fun day. I dreaded the long trip to Wake Forest for the girls' volleyball game, and it was a looooooong trip, but they played well, and afterward we stopped at Pizza Hut with the girls & families who went, and that was fun, too. A long day and evening, but a good one.
Trying to keep up with Grace & Isaiah at the gym was challenging, but Sam helped. It wore me out, but in a good way. Being worn out by family is a blessing.
Then home, unwind a little while, Grace screams, "Chloe has a hearing aid!" and sure enough she has chewed up Bethany's earmold. Not a happy moment! (And just now I took a little ballerina out of her mouth. She is so exasperatingly oral, it is maddening!)
But back to the kids. Time to get them to bed (no, past time). You know, even though I fuss sometimes about how busy life gets, I am so thankful for the busy-ness. So thankful for the little (and bigger) demanding voices and the little figures who constantly scatter things all throughout the house. I wouldn't trade it. (Except the dog. The dog I would sometimes trade. Sorry, Chloe. You are getting better. I think.)
May our nest never be empty.

Well man, you never told us that you liked things constantly scattered "all throughout the house." That's not very fair.
Okay, I did not like everything scattered, still don't. But I do like the people who do it.
And as long as I'm clarifying, when I said I hoped the nest would never be empty, I didn't mean that I did not want you all to have lives & families of your own. But I hope you'll come visit a lot, live within a reasonably close range & bring your families home a lot. I don't need an immaculate quiet house (at least I don't guess I do. I wonder what it is).
