Memories Refreshed

Of late there has been a veritable (I love that word; does it mean anything?) Tinkertoy revolution at the Rauscher Haus. Maybe I should call it a Tinkertoy revival, since it seems like yesterday that Josh, Ben & Tim were deeply engrossed in the wonderful rods and wheels. Lately there is always a moving playground on the living room rug (complete with dollhouse people swinging on the swings....sorry JB & T; you may have come up short there & had to fight over the one Tinkertoy man in the set). Isaiah showed me his deluxe barbell a few minutes ago, and now he brought me two "light shows" (think Stone Mountain). Sam made a tall church the other day. Bethany's creations are pretty complex, also; I think her last one was some kind of large structure with swings. Grace seems to be down there in the mix, too; I'm not sure she's shown me any of her masterpieces, and I don't know if Caitlin has gotten in on the fun. Bethany says we need two more sets to make bigger structures. Hmmm......I think you guys probably said the same thing. Guess you're still waiting.

Scouring the pewter? Wow, even I'm impressed.

I know, let's have a family contest to see who can figure out who "Anonymous"
is.

Are legos out of style?

The Blog Marm said...

No, they really like Legos too. In fact they are occasionally combining the big chunky Legos with Tinkertoys. But Tinkertoys are where it's at right now. At least here. Wow, Josh & Abby commented!

Just what is the correct adjective to use- stupenduos, magnificient, educated replies or just plain uninformed about the knowledge and in the dark re: all that occurs in one wee household.Imagination must run rampant in construction businesses. This anonomus one can only say. Carry on, ye merry makers.

Our household? Wee?

The Blog Marm said...

Was that a pun on my "wee" (whee)? Good grief, people have to help me around here to figure stuff out.

Well, whoever Anonymous is, he/she has a good hold on computer lingo, with the "re:".
Wait, that probably came before email...

Ben said...

and why don't we have a gender-neutral third person personal pronoun??

The Blog Marm said...

Maybe if you come up with one, you'll win something.

Ben said...

"de"

The Blog Marm said...

Okay, maybe you won't win a lot.
"Well, whoever anonymous is, de has a good hold on computer lingo." I feel like I am talking rap or ebonics or something. It could grow on me.

Ben said...

hey yeah...it's cool that way.

You know, it actually crossed my mind to use your newly coined pronoun in a conversation today. How scary is that? Fortunately, (a) it crossed my mind slightly too late ("I could have used 'de' just then, thought my silly little mind), and (b) it was only in the company of the folks who live here.

Ben said...

awesome! well, it would have been a start at least.
that is funny.

Anonymous said...

how is that pronounced, btw? dee? deh? dey?

Ben said...

ok, kt. it is definitely not "butwuh" that's why I answered Bethany - she asks intelligent questions.

Anonymous said...

I have no response to that.

s'what I thought. don't feel too bad though.
