Hi, I'm at work late and I thought I would put up a quick post before I leave. I feel it is high time I updated you out in the internet community (and my family) on what's up. Sorry it's been so long since I posted.
It has been a long, hard summer. Rebecca has been dividing her time between killing the hogs and putting up a new fence around the cow pasture. I know that I picked a fine woman. She works night and day, never sleeping at all. And her green beans? My stars. I never. Bless me!
Brian, my old roommate, is now a vacuum cleaner salesman for the government. He is married to his work, writing songs - songs about love, of all things -something he knows absolutely nothing about. I'm not sure where the songs come in to the vacuum cleaner job - I think they might be jingles.
Josh and Abby are still mourning over their dog, but time heals all wounds.
And I've been drafted, as I suppose you have all heard. The cameraderie amongst the boys here in Madrid is like I have never felt before. My arms and face are covered in green bumps of some kind, but other than that, I'm doing well. I met a pretty young Spanish thing the other day. Ah, but you thought I had forgotten about Rebecca, eh? I could not. No, this was a parrot. (ha) I will take it as a gift for Rebecca when I return home. We sail for Wilmington, NC at dawn. Or...so the captain says!

I'm speechless. Gotta let all this settle. No wonder we haven't heard from you in at least, um, two days.
Who'd have thought?
yeah, sorry - I have kept a lot from you guys.
Sam wants to know how old she is. I would be scared to ask :)
He also wants to know: "Is she the right type for him?" Well, sounds to me like she is, obviously. I might ask something totally shallow, like how many teeth does she have? Not that I'd really care about such minor, um. aesthetic details. It's obvious she has a good heart.
Do not worry. She is the right type for me. She does indeed have a good heart.
You ask of her appearance - I only wish to say now that she is a joyful, robust woman. However, as I assure her daily in my letters, my love for her is as large as she is. And she is pretty large. But should she deem to grow bigger and bigger, ever so shall my love for her grow in proportion.
yeah, but do you know how old she is?
um, no.
we have not known each other long, after all (only for the summer...9 days?).
yes, but such a long, hard summer it has been :).............
